Due to the extremely complicated design of the metal frame, it is almost difficult to paint many parts of a car using a standard spray-applied paint finish. For the best corrosion resistance, the first coating layer is electro-deposited when a vehicle is being built. The most automatic, manageable, and effective way to apply a corrosion-inhibiting primer to a metallic work piece is by using this technique.
The metal body is electrically charged, placed in a solution with paint particles with opposite charges, which are drawn to the metal surface in order to form a strong coating. The metallic body is then baked. In order to prevent steel corrosion, current practice recommends using the automobile body as the cathode in this process. Cathodic electro coats, a type of coating, are used in this method.
As a result, the cathode connection is joined to the full hanger assembly. The entire hangar is electrified, and CED takes place throughout it, causing more paint to fall on the surface of the hangar and into the body seating arrangements.
